The three most popular ones are Graveyard Yew, White Holly or an amazing discovery, -5000 years old English "Bog Oak" . This rare wood is dug from ancient peat bogs in the mysterious Fenlands of East Anglia , and polishes up to give a fantastic dark grey handle. Each one is finished with a polished bronze pommel bearing the Pentagram, and a cross guard which can be either straight as in the picture below, or curved as in the picture at the top of the page.
The blade of your knife is of best quality carbon steel, which then can be either polished to a mirror shine-or else given a special black finish. The choice is up to you.
And finally, each Athame is supplied with a plain vegetable tanned leather sheath with a belt loop. However, if you would prefer a sheath made out of non-animal material such as heavy duty linen or light canvas , then just ask and this will be arranged.
The "standard" size Athame is a total length of about 12 inches, (approx 30 cm) with a seven inch blade (approx 18 cm). This is the "normal" size for a ritual dagger -but if you want a larger (or a smaller) one, again, just ask!

Our Athames are not the cheapest available on the Net. Indeed, it is possible to buy some that will cost you less than the cost to us of the blade alone! But please read on if you are interested in the genuine article.
Again you can choose the type of wood used for the handle. The blade is individually hand-cast in traditional bronze, and the tool is finished with a bronze pentagram pommel to match your Athame.
